George Wittel 87, of Lavallette, NJ died on Saturday April 6, 2019. Born in Newark, NJ he lived in Scotch Plains, NJ and he had been a longtime summer resident of Lavallette. George was a member of the Steel Workers Union and worked for the American Can Co. for 25 years in Hillside, NJ and then a Bus driver for Oak Tree Bus Service in Edison, NJ. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Mildred (Karge) and siblings; Charles and Laverne Mazzaro. Surviving is his loving wife Dolores (Beeger). A son George C. and his wife Theresa of Bridgewater, NJ. A daughter Patti of Lavallette, NJ. Three brothers Robert, Edward and Richard. A sister Jane O’Neil. Six Grandchildren; James, Mikey, Billy, Rachel, Allison and Gwen. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing for George on Thursday April 11, 2019 from 4-7pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 706 Grand Central Ave, Lavallette, NJ. The Funeral Service will be on Friday 10am at the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, NJ. in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad 1916 Bartle Ave. Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
