Franco "Frank" Morello

Franco “Frank” Morello, age 60 of Long Branch, died Monday, July 10, 2017 at home with the love of his family around him after a courageous 11 year battle with cancer. Frank was born in Catanzaro, Italy and came to Long Branch in 1959; he was a graduate of Long Branch High School and parishioner of Star of the Sea Church of Christ the King Parish in Long Branch. He loved the City of Long Branch, enjoyed the music events around town, riding his bike and saying hello to friends along the way. Frank was employed for the James J. Howard Marine Sciences Laboratory at Sandy Hook for 40 years retiring in 2012. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin. Surviving are his parents, Antonio and Rosina Morello; his brother and sister in law, Felice and Rosemarie Morello and his niece Melissa. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 13 from 4-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch. Funeral Friday; 9 am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at Star of the Sea Church in Long Branch. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2310 Hwy 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
