Edward Rearick

Edward W. Rearick, 92, of Marlton, a retired engineer, WWII and Korean War Veteran and volunteer died on June 19, 2018 at The Fountains at Cedar Park in Atco. A native of Chicago IL, the Rearicks relocated to Pennsylvania in the 1930's where he received his basic schooling. Mr. Rearick attended the University of Pittsburgh prior to enlisting in the Army Air Force in 1943. He served in the European Theatre with the 9th Air Force and was separated in 1946. After his discharge, he worked and returned to school attending evening classes studying engineering. In 1949, he married the former Elizabeth M. Stetter in the Hebron Lutheran Church in Leachburg PA. They resided in Pittsburgh. In 1950, his reserve unit, the 57th Troop Carrier Squadron, was activated and deployed to Korea where he served with the 375th Troop Carrier Squadron flying as a Radio/Radar Operator on C-119 aircraft. Discharged in 1952, he completed his education. Rearick worked and lived in Pittsburgh, Bridgeport WV and Marlton NJ where his wife of 57 years died in 2006. Mr. Rearick spent his career working for companies designing Steel Mill and Glass Manufacturing Machinery. He served as Consultant in the construction of a Float Glass Facility in West Virginia and later was appointed the Ass't Director of RandD. In 19080, he was hired by CE Glass and moved to Marlton NJ. Rearick retired from Hordis Brothers as Chief Engineer in 1991, Mr. Rearick is a life member of the VFW Post 214, Past Commander and 50 year member of the United States Power Squadrons, Past District Commodore and 45 year member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. He also served on the Area Maritime Security Committee, CERT and the AARP Instructor Corps. His hobbies included teaching, photography, sailing and Ham Radio Operator. He is survived by his sister, Caroline Hochdoerfer of Daytona Beach FL. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Saturday from 10am-12noon and 3pm-4pm at the Bradley Funeral Home Rt. 73 and Evesham Rd. Marlton where a Time of Remembrance will be held at 4pm.
