Abby Tibitts Augustin, 85, peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by loving family members on March 26, 2019. Abby was born in Columbia, CT, living in many states before settling in Mays Landing, NJ in 1993. Abby is pre-deceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Tom and is survived by seven children, Peter (Sue), Todd (Amy), Elizabeth (Bobby), Heather, Scott (Rae), Natalie (Tim) and Torry (Chris), 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Abby will be remembered most for her kind heart. Her true joy in life was taking care of people, especially children – seeing them smile and grow. As a nursery school teacher and day care provider, she influenced the lives of many children. Abby's incredible talent in knitting, crocheting and quilting has left her friends and family a lasting legacy of her beautiful sweaters, stockings, afghans and blankets. Her love of Santa and all things Christmas brought cheer to everyone. Her Christmas trees were an incredible sight, and her hundreds of Santa's brought joy to all who entered her home. And we will all miss the brownies. The family will receive guests at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing, NJ, on Saturday, March 30th with a visitation from 10:00am-12:00 noon, followed by a Funeral Service at Noon, with burial immediately following at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor, NJ.
