Agnes M. Smeling, 89, of Egg Harbor Twp., passed away peacefully at home on February 4, 2011. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she lived most of her life in Atlantic County. After retiring from Lenox China, Agnes spent several years spending time with her grandchildren. At the young age of 68 she went to work at CVS of EHT for 20 years where she was well known as the “Card Lady”. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph R. Smeling, her granddaughter Debora Lafferty, and her great-granddaughter Chloe Finnegan. Agnes will be sadly missed but never forgotten by her three daughters; Liz Lewis (Bob), Joanne LaViolettte, Cathy Rossetti, six grandchildren; Jim Lafferty, Lisa Foley, Billy LaViolette, Shannon Bennett, Melissa Finnegan, and Gunnery Sgt. Chris Rossetti, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her memory on Tuesday, February 8th, from 2-3pm, with services and reflection shared at 3pm, at the Boakes Funeral Home 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing.
