Althea E. Karrer (nee Henschel) 86, Althea passed away peacefully Nov. 28, 2012, in the presence of family members. She was born on July 9, 1926 in Egg Harbor City. Predeceased by her parents Walter and Alice Henschel, husband Nelson H Karrer (2003), sister Anna Bille (Henschel), brothers in law, Robert Peterson, and Arnold Bille. Survived by sons Robert (Elizabeth) of Linwood, Thomas (Cindy) of Mays Landing, Ronald (Angel) of Mays Landing, daughter Sandra Gilpin (Harold) of Mays Landing, sisters Nancy Peterson of Egg Harbor City, Barbara Mauroff (Ronald) of Mullica Township, Four Grandchildren Keith Karrer, Lisa Lytle (nee Karrer), Dana Karrer, Kevin Karrer and Four Great Grandchildren Jake and Luke Lytle, Chase and Emma Karrer. Althea was an Air Force wife and home maker, lived in Virginia, Florida, Oklahoma, Washington DC, the US Territory of Guam and Vermont. After Nelson retired from the Air Force, they settled in Mays Landing to be near their families in Egg Harbor City. Her interests were her family, reading, gardening and feeding the outdoor birds. Friends and relatives are invited to join us for services on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing. Visitation will be at 10:00am with services at 11:00am. Interment will follow at the Atlantic County Park Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor. In lieu of flowers donations will be accepted by Deborah Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 820, Browns Mills, NJ 08015.
