Ann K. Groff, 84 – of Mays Landing, went home to be with the Lord on Monday Evening March 10th, 2014, after being cared for at home by her family. Born in 1929 Philadelphia, PA, to the late George and Anne Einwechter. She graduated from Darby High School and Keystone Secretarial School. She got married and started a family, raising 4 children and resided in South Jersey. After relocating to Burlington Vermont in 1978, she worked as an administrative assistant for the University of Vermont. She returned to South Jersey in 1985 and worked at Spencer Gifts, Inc. until she retired in 1994. Mom was very talented and loved to write poems, sketch freehand, paint, play the piano and listen to a wide range of music. She returned to work part time at Atlantic Cape Community College where she was the main switchboard operator and worked there until 2012. Besides spending quality time with family and friends, she was a faithful and active United Methodist Church member and long- time secretary for the Asbury Methodist Women’s Group. She also supported the Ranch Hope for Boys foundation and maintained thousands of meeting minutes. She is survived by her children and their wives, Doug and Barbara Groff, Pamela Groff, Fred and Nancy Groff and Fenton George Groff. She also has 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was known for her unforgettable smile and good will toward others. A viewing and funeral services will begin at 930am on Saturday March 15th, 2014 at the Boakes Funeral Home on Main Street in Mays Landing. There will be a life celebration afterwards, held at the Asbury Methodist Church in Egg Harbor Twp. At 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Asbury Methodist Women’s Group.
