Arthur Beckman, Sr.

Beckman, Sr., Arthur C., "Cliff", 71, of Mays Landing, formerly of Egg Harbor Township, passed away on January 1, 2007. Born and raised in Pleasantville, he graduate in the top 10 of his class at Pleasantville High School. He served in the U.S. Army as Staff Sergeant for six years. He worked for Friehoffer Bakery for several years and later worked for the Mahogany Company of Mays Landing for over 20 years where he retired as a supervisor. An avid history buff, he enjoyed collecting Civil War artifacts and visiting area battlefields. A dedicated husband and father, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed and always remembered by his wife of 46 years Ella "Trudy"; three children: Russell A. and his wife Jennifer, Arthur Jr. and his wife Colleen, and Katherine Crew and her husband Daniel; eight grandchildren: Russell, Thomas, Richard, Kaelyn, Michael, John, Ryan, and Megan; three sisters Jane Errickson, Claudia McGinty, and Madeline Foster; brother Harry Beckman; and numerous other relatives and friends. Services will be held on Thursday, 8 PM, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where a viewing will be held from 6 PM until the time of the service. Burial will be private.
