Barrett L., Birch, “Barry”, 67, of Mays Landing, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2010. A lifelong area resident, in his younger years he worked in the family business, Birch Fuel Co. He later worked for Sears, Spencer Gifts, BJ’s Wholesale Club, and most recently was a security guard for Shore Memorial Hospital. Barry was an avid collector of antiques, coins, and baseball cards. His greatest passion throughout his life was his family, and will always be remembered by his wife of 39 years, Barbara; four children: Michelle DeSimone (John), Suzanne Pavluk (Hank), Barrett, Jr., and Jennifer Jeffries (Scott); six grandchildren: Elissa, Gregory, Eric, Rachel, Sarah, and Dakota; two Great-grandchildren: Jennifer and Jessica; three siblings: William, Robert, and Kathleen Ganiel; and numerous other relatives and friends. A viewing will be held on Saturday, 10 AM – 12 Noon, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where services will be held at 12 Noon. Burial will be in Laurel Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the “Bakas Riding Center” to benefit Handicap Children, 11510 Whisper Lake Trail, Tampa, FL 33626.
