Painter, Bernard Charles, of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ passed away suddenly on Friday, July 10, 2009. He was born January 26, 1944 to Benjamin and Florine Painter. A graduate of Oakcrest High School, he served in the US Navy as a JA-1/court reporter. Bernie owned and operated Zeus Sporting Goods for 30 years before retirement. He served the State of New Jersey as a ballistics expert. Bernie led a fulfilling life with his friends and family. Bernie enjoyed gardening, traveling, woodworking, and his motorcycle collection. He will be greatly missed by friends and family. Bernie is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Bonnie Painter; daughter Hilary Cavanaugh and son Joshua Painter all of Egg Harbor Township; brother Benjamin (Butch) Painter and his wife Rosemary; nephew Dennis Painter; niece Karen Unsworth; and great-niece Taryn Unsworth. Friends and family are invited to attend his memorial service on Friday, July 17, 2009 at 8 PM, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where friends may gather from 6 PM until the time of the service.
