Berton M. Boone, 79, of Mays Landing, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2013. A lifelong area resident, Bert worked for Wheaton and later worked in the Casino Industry. He was a member of Unity Lodge #96 F.&A.M., where he served as Worshipful Master in 1964. Bert was an avid golfer in his leisure time. He is survived by his wife, Waltraud “Wali”, his two children, Debbie Boone Carmody and Byron Boone (Denise), his three grandchildren; Brendan, Caitlin, and Erin, his brother Bradford Boone, and his sister Nancy Curley (Jim). A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 27th, from 4-6pm, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where a Masonic Service will be held at 6pm followed by services and military honors.
