Charles Wunder

Charles V. Wunder, "Chuck", 77, of Mays Landing, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on March 31, 2010 after a courageous battle with M.D.S. Born and raised in Delaware County, PA, he was the owner and operator of Wunder's Restaurant of Springfield, PA and President of the Delaware County Taverns Association. His second career was a Treasury Agent for the Federal Government. In 1980 he moved to Mays Landing where he worked as a casino consultant and started a private investigation firm. Chuck also attributed to the success of four local businesses: C.W. News, Country Pine Inn, Creations, and Rainsoft. He served in the US Coast Guard, and was a member of the Springfield Lodge F&AM and the Shrine, LuLu Temple. His greatest pride in his life was his family, which he leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 51 years Jane; his son Curtis and his wife Barbara, his daughter Stacie Miller and her husband David; six grandchildren: Danny (Brenen), Ali, Linsie (Ryan), Kierstin, Sadie, Katrina; and his great-grandson and namesake Charlie. Reflections by family and friends will be held on Saturday, 12 Noon, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where people may begin to gather at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
