Daniel Burroughs Obituary

Daniel S. Burroughs “Dan/Danny” 60 - of Mays Landing New Jersey. Dan was born in Sheldon Texas November 6, 1946 In August 2007, Dan’s life was taken away at his residence. At a young age Dan, his mother and sister relocated to Delaware County Pennsylvania. Dan left the nest during his younger years, was the father of two children, Carolyn and Danny Jr. Dan lived the greater part of his life in NJ, he really like NJ. Danny was a personality that many indeed loved and enjoyed being around. His animated, funny sense of humor and most of all, his willingness to ‘stop what he was doing to help someone in need’ seemed unparalleled. Dan was gifted and had the ability to fix or make just about anything. His talents and precise way of doing projects varied from, custom paint work on automobiles, motorcycles etc. to even having the knowledge and needed skills to build a house. With using his hands and skills many of Dan’s building trades can be credited to his beloved stepfather, Raymond Wantorcik. Dan indeed had the skills to turn a hunk of coal into a diamond. Dan’s hobbies and interest were many; almost anything to do with cars, motorcycles, speed boats, radio controlled airplanes and was even a musician/drummer. Dan has a younger brother (Raymond) that simply adored him and followed in his big brothers footsteps in many ways. Dan and his younger brother shared many of the same interest, hobbies and until Dan met his horrific demise were as close and loving as any two brothers could ever hope to be. Dan is survived by his two children, Danny Burroughs Jr, Carolyn Burroughs and granddaughter, Amanda Costa, also by his stepfather Raymond J Wantorcik and beloved half-brother/best friend, Raymond J Wantorcik 3’rd. Dan is predeceased by his biological mother, Louise Florio Wantorcik and biological sister, Jeanne Burroughs Gallagher. Dan’s grandparents from both mother and father are also deceased. The reason for his late memorial is due to the fact that his remains were undiscovered for six years. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Boakes Funeral Home 6050 Main Street Mays Landing NJ at 2:30 PM, where friends may gather at 1 PM to celebrate his life.
