Doris Warwick

Doris Elizabeth Warwick, 77 of Mays Landing, died peacefully surrounded by her family as she went home to be with the Lord on June 18th. She was born on June 22, 1929 in Millville, NJ and spent her childhood years in South Millville. In her early adulthood she married Emerson Warwick with whom she shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. She was a devoted mother to her two children, Lawrence and Barbara. She was lovingly known as "GG" to 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. Doris was gifted in many areas of her life. She was a student of art and music and she enjoyed cooking and was well known for her talent in the kitchen. She taught piano for over 20 years in both Tampa, Florida and Mays Landing. As an amateur artist she won many awards for her paintings. Doris and her husband Emerson lived in Florida for several years and moved back to New Jersey where she worked for Prudential Insurance in Millville for 20 years and retired in 1987. She and her husband moved to Mays Landing to the Oaks of Weymouth in 1995 to be closer to their family. She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband, Emerson, her son Lawrence Warwick and his wife Michelle of Ventnor, her daughter Barbara Sanders and her husband George of Mays Landing, and grandchildren, Christine DeGraff, Paul Warwick, Danny Warwick, Johnny Warwick, Wendy McKensie, Jessica Sanders, Dale Sanders along with all the great grandchildren. Services will be held on Friday, June 22, at Veterans Cemetery at the Atlantic County Park in Estelle Manor at 11:00 AM. The family requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Light of the World Community Church of Mays Landing, 465 Franklin Drive, Mays Landing, NJ 08330.
