Elizabeth A Massey

Elizabeth Massey, of Mays Landing, passed away on August 15, 2015. Born July 24, 1919, Elizabeth was raised in Egg Harbor City. She graduated from Egg Harbor City High School in 1937. She married Joseph Massey, the love of her life in 1943 and moved to Mays Landing in the late 40’s where they raised their two children. She last worked at NAFEC (FAA Tech Center) where she received many awards for outstanding dedication and service during her 21 years there before retiring in 1980. She was a faithful member of St. Vincent de Paul Church for many years. She enjoyed making dinners for her family, and she always had a four-legged pup by her side. In her later years she received much joy from being with her family especially her great-grandchildren C.J. and Mya. She is predeceased by her husband Chief Joseph Massey, her parents Joseph & Elizabeth Weisbecker, brothers Herbert, William, Joseph, and Charles Weisbecker, and sister Dorothy Bouchard. She is survived by her children: Dennis Massey and Monica McCarson (Geno); her grandchildren: Michael Petitt, Amanda Bohatila (Clarence) and Joseph Massey; her great-grandchildren: C.J. and Mya Bohatila; and her brother Francis Weisbecker (Millie). A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 20 from 10 AM – 12 Noon at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where services will be held at 12 Noon. Burial will be in Egg Harbor City Cemetery
