Ella Mae Remhoff Madara Hughes, went home to heaven on March 22, 2011. She was 82 years old. She lived in Genesis-Millville and passed after a long illness. She was well-loved there and everyone knew her as “Miss Ellie.” The daughter of E. Karl Remhoff and Mary Scharrino she was life-long resident of Estell Manor. She attended Pleasantville High School, Class of 1947, where she graduated near the top of her class and was a member of the National Honor Society. Ella Mae aspired to be a nurse but was too young and was married to Raymond Madara (deceased) and had three children: Susan Beth Townsend, wife of Ronald Townsend of Strasburg, PA; Robert Raymond Madara, husband of Darlene Morris of Millville; and Ronald Kenneth Madara, husband of Marianne Marascia of East Brunswick, NJ. She leaves behind eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was married to Frederick R. Hughes (deceased). She is also preceded in death by her brother Kenneth A. Remhoff. Services will be held at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing on Saturday 10:30 AM, with a viewing one hour prior.
