Dorothy Ethel Sacco, “Dot” (nee Mears)- 83 who was a lifetime resident of the Egg Harbor Township/Pleasantville area, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, June 13, 2015. Dot was born Wednesday, June 17, 1931 to James & Carrie Mears in Atlantic City, NJ. She was a homemaker who helped her beloved husband of 65 years with their towing and auto body business, “Little John’s”. Johnny & Dorothy left the area briefly from 1952-1954 while Johnny was stationed at Parris Island with the Marine Corp. In the past, she enjoyed traveling to their second home in Florida several times a year to visit friends and family. Dorothy is predeceased by her parents James & Carrie, daughter Dorothy Lillian, sister Betty “Carrie” Turner, brother Richard Van Syckle, brother James Mears, parents-in-law Salvatore & Lillian & brother-in-law Joe Taylor. Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband John Anthony, loving daughter Dorothy Ann (Vincent) of Mays Landing, adoring grandson Albert Jr (Justina) of Mays Landing, beloved great grandson Albert III, son-in-law Albert Sr of Buena, brother Charles (Florence) Mears of Ocean View, twin sister Emma Taylor of Northfield, many nieces & nephews and a host of other family. Relatives and friends are invited to Dorothy’s Celebration of Life on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St, Mays Landing from 10am to noon. Services will be at 12pm. Interment will take place at Veteran’s Cemetery (Estell Manor) 109 Boulevard Rt. 50, Mays Landing, NJ.
