Frederick Schwenker

Frederick J. Schwenker, 83, passed away at home with his loved ones at his side on January 19th, 2008 after a brief illness. Fred, affectionately known as Fritz, was born in Scranton, Pa. on May 28, 1924. After graduating from Tech High School, Fred joined the army in 1942. He was a proud veteran of WWII, having served as both a sharp-shooter and military police officer. Fred relocated to South Jersey with his family in 1962. He retired from Prudential Insurance Company in 1983. Fred was predeceased by an infant son, Frederick. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 56 years, Jean; three children, Gail (Tim) Matlack, Paul (Laura) Schwenker, and Bob (Sue) Schwenker; six grandchildren, David, Kristen, Pete, Brian, Adam and Lori; and four great-grandchildren, Amber, David, Cheyenne and Savannah. His is also survived by sister Helene Schild and twin brother Robert Schwenker. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 from 6pm-8pm at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, January 23, 2006 at St. Vincent De Paul Church, 114 Rte. 50, Mays Landing, NJ where friends may call from 10am. Interment will follow at Veteran's Cemetery in Atlantic County Park, Rte. 50, Estell Manor, NJ.
