George L. F. Bock, Sr of Durham, Pa passed away with his family by his side on Monday, June 25, 2007. George was born on September 26, 1929 in Bryn Mawr, Pa to Louis E and Sarah V (Fowler) Bock Sr. After graduation from Ursinus College in 1953, he served in the Navy on the DD 701, the USS John W Weeks, as a commissioned officer during the Korean War from 1954 to 1957. After the Navy George and his beloved wife Barbara (McLain), whom he married January 31, 1954, moved to California where George completed his MBA at UCLA and began working for IBM. George and Barbara moved to Durham in 1962 where they raised their children Kathleen and George Jr. George worked at Mack Printing in Easton before becoming one of the first professors of Computer Science and then a Vice President at Northampton County Area Community College. After retiring from the college in 1976, George became an independent Systems Analyst. After his retirement in 1992, George and Barbara enjoyed their time together before her passing in 1998. George was predeceased by his wife, Barbara, his parents, his sister, Verna, and his brother, Lou. He is survived by his daughter Kathy and her husband John Rau and his son George and his wife Kathy and granddaughter Chelsea. Services will be private.
