Gertrude L. Dreager
(nee: Cronauer), "Trudy" was born January 5, 1933 in Hastings, PA to Mildred Cronauer (Miller) and Phillip Cronauer. She passed away peacefully on February 15, 2009.
Trudy moved to New Jersey in the early 1950's where she resided in and around the Mays Landing area for the rest of her life. Trudy worked at Wheaton's Plastics Factory (Alcon Global) from where she retired. She became the first female "machine set-up" person at Wheaton's Mays Lading plastics factory. Trudy was the "party planner, decorator, and morale builder" for her crew.
Trudy enjoyed her retired life at "The Oakes" where she had many close friends and neighbors. She spent many a day traveling to the various Senior Centers with "the girls" Peggy Fay, Grace Cramer, Marie Russo, Rose Perratta, Terry Goode, Shirley Call, and other fine ladies of "The Oakes."
Trudy was predeceased by an infant daughter Frances Elizabeth, three sons: infant Robert and Thomas and Barry Dreager, two brothers Robert and Miles Cronauer and her ex-husband Bernard "Bunny" Dreager.
Trudy is survived by her son Michael and her daughter Jeannie (Erbrick); grandchildren: Jennifer, Danielle, and Ethan (Dreager), Andrea (Carey), Tawni, Ciara, and Maya (Windsor), Vincent, Jamie and Jessica (Mercanto), Robby and Katelyn (Erbrick), Kassandra (Frankowski); great-grandchildren: Lexus and Ryan (Carey), Christopher Schneider, Samantha Dreager, and Benaiah (O'Steen); brothers: Regis (Ann) Cronauer; sisters Betty Finet, Jean Mello, Alletta (Bob) Yonkoske and June (Bill) Kelly; and life long friends Beth McFarland and Lorretta Peffley.
Trudy's legacy of love and caring for her family and friends is a legacy that will endure in our hearts forever. Trudy was a truly blessed woman who blest the lives of all whom she touched.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Trudy's life at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 114 Route 50, Mays Landing, on Wednesday, February 18 at 11:30 AM. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the Mass.
