Herbert “Ted” Ellsworth (“Diligent Worker”), 79, of Mays Landing, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on December 8, 2011. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Lorraine Ellsworth; three children: Sheri Theno, Steve and Tim Ellsworth and their spouses; six grandchildren: Steven, Jacob, Jamie, Zacharie, Kyle, and Ashley; and beloved four-legged friend “Buddy”! After serving in the Korean War, he began his career as a building and excavating contractor in South Jersey. His accomplishments are seen throughout S.J. and include several golf courses, baseball fields, custom homes, churches, and shopping centers. He built a home for his family on the bay in Somers Point. He loved fishing and the outdoors. He loved the Lord and was a well-known song leader at several S.J. and Philadelphia churches. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Mays Landing Baptist Church, 6192 Harding Highway, Mays Landing, NJ 08330. Friends may greet the family at the church from 10-11 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Mays Landing Baptist Church.
