Jacob Gale Mays Landing, New Jersey Obituary

Jacob Gale

Jacob James Gale, 12 of Mays Landing passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Born there in Pomona, he has been a life-long resident. He was the son of Edward F. Gale, Sr. and Julie Conover Gale. He was a student in the Hess Complex in Mays Landing. “JJ” as everyone knew him, was a very special young man. He touched the hearts of many. He loved spending time with his family, mostly his grandmom and grandpop Gale. He also enjoyed spending as much time with his older brother, JR, fishing at the local pond at Strawberry field, taking long walks down to the reservoir, hiking the winding trails surrounding the vast 18 acres he grew up on, and taking a hot day and turning it into a cool afternoon down on the Little Egg Harbor River. He enjoyed an occasional ride in a canoe or a kayak as long has he was the passenger, roaming the property, and flipping pieces of wood or rocks. Finding a new snake or lizard was always on his bucket list. Finding a baby turkey or chicken never seemed to surprise anyone. Pitching in to help harvest a freshly taken deer wasn’t a problem; he never put his nose up to Uncle Paul’s oven full of venison. He also enjoyed playing video games and crafts with rubber bands. He loved his activities in school; learning a variety of things through all of his dedicated teachers and counselors always gave him joy. One of his favorite places to be was family swim night at school. He always looked forward to family swim. This would place him with his family members and children that he went to school with during the course of the day, which he cherished dearly. Jacob will be missed dearly, but his spirit will never leave our hearts. He will always be in our prayers. God bless. In addition to his parents he is survived by his brother Edward F. Gale, Jr, his paternal grandparents James E. and Virginia Davenport Gale., his Aunt Barbara Gale Burke (John), of Boca Raton, Fl,: Uncle William J. Gale (Marjorie Smith) of Weymouth, and Uncle James F. Gale (Lynn) and cousins Ethan and Alexandra Gale and John, Steven, Katie and James Burke. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert L. and Adaline Clark Conover and Uncle Robert W. Conover. Services will be held Saturday, May 24 at 12 p.m. at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where friends may call from 10 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Haluwasa, 377 Ehrke Rd., Hammonton, NJ 08037
