James (Jim) Horne Sr, of Mays Landing NJ passed away peacefully on July 17, 2020. He was 77 years old.
He was predeceased by his wife Connie and is survived by his three children Don (Lisa), Debbie (Vincent), and James Jr.; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren along with many extended family and his dog Georgia.
To his family he was lovingly known as Noops. He was born in Maplewood, NJ and moved to Point Pleasant, NJ as a child where he settled, married and raised his family as well as owning and operating Finest Enterprises - a woodworking, cabinets and stairs manufacturing business. Jim and Connie moved to Mays Landing in the late 1980’s and loved their homestead on the river, dubbing it “Almost Heaven.” Jim lived life on his terms, was a giving, caring man who loved country music, British comedy, old cars and made friends easily.
He was a long time Rotarian, both in Point Pleasant and Mays Landing, as well as a Master Mason (of Unity Lodge #96, in Mays Landing.) He was an avid history buff and was like a walking encyclopedia of facts and figures. His family would joke that it was newsworthy if he got a question wrong on Jeopardy.
A donation can be made in his memory to Deborah Hospital Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
