James Rivell

James (Jimmy) Rivell Age 74 passed away on March 15th from cancer in Mays Landing, NJ. Born in Philadelphia on January 7, 1943 to Harry and Genevieve Rivell nee (Ford). Grew up in Glendora, NJ and graduated from Triton Regional High School in 1961. Jimmy retired from PSE&G having served 41 years. Retired member of The Fralinger String Band and served as the Business Agent for The Gloucester City String Band. Jimmy played the Atlantic City and Wildwood, NJ circuit playing music, which he loved so dearly. Jimmy was known as “The Best of the Best” he could make that banjo sing! He loved his dog River and the crazy cat Rocco. He enjoyed sitting on our deck looking out onto the river watching the beautiful sunsets. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Gail Rivell (nee Tappan). Three children: James Rivell, Jr. Brian Rivell and Kevin Rivell and a stepson, Christopher Soke. Two brothers: Harry Rivell, Warren Rivell and Sister Genevieve Lubrant and 7 grandchildren. His wish was cremation and a private service by invitation.
