James J. Shea,Jr, of Dorothy, NJ died suddenly on August 19, 2009. He was predeceased by his parents, James J. Shea Sr and Agnes (Hyland) Shea. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Frances A. (Tomasello) Shea. Left to cherish his memories are his nine children: James III (Marie), Daniel, Deborah, Maureen, Kathleen (Michael), Patrick (Dottie), Colleen (François), Brian, and Erin (Nicholas), his eleven grandchildren: Christina, Patrick, James IV, Lauren, Sam, Ryan, Colleen, Daniel, Nicole, Karissa and Nicholas, his great granddaughter, Cara, his sister Patricia Meyer and brothers John and Robert. Born in Queens, NY on June 29, 1929, he resided in South Jersey since 1947 and was a graduate of Holy Spirit High School. "Rick O'Shea" was a talented commercial artist also known as the "Signmaker to the Stars", and specialized in gold-leaf lettering. He was an avid sports fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants; he also loved spending time on his tractor and gardening in his yard. His services to the community included: Past President of the Mays Landing Chamber of Commerce 1970-1971, Past Grand Knight of the St. Vincent de Paul Knights of Columbus, Treasurer of Atlantic County Democratic Committee and member of the Mays Landing Athletic Association. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 11 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Friends are invited to gather from 10-11 AM. Burial will be at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Dorothy.
