Joan B. Fisher, age 80, beloved wife and mother, passed away on June 1, 2013 at Shore Medical Center, of pulmonary complications. Joan was born and raised in Montreal, Canada to Yvonne (Roy) Bruce and Lawrence Bruce. She vacationed in Atlantic City, and so enjoyed it that she permanently relocated here at a young age. She worked for Hoffman Hardware and James Salt Water Taffy in Atlantic City, and South Jersey Gas, from which she retired fifteen years ago. Joan was an animal lover, who had many pets over her lifetime. She also loved hockey, always rooting for her favorite teams, the Montreal Canadiens and the Philadelphia Flyers. She is predeceased by her parents and her beloved husband, John V. Fisher, Jr., in 1986. Left to cherish her memory is her devoted son, Lawrence S. Carigliano, and her dog, Butch. She is also survived by nephews Serge Landry of St. Janvier, Quebec, Dan Gauthier of Montreal, and several other nephews from Canada, as well as her best friends, Donna Pieratt and Marilyn Ryan. She was a long-time member and supporter of Our Lady of Sorrows in Linwood. Burial will be private, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
