John Chatten

John Charles Chatten, 69, of Aiken, SC, formerly of Mays Landing, passed away on December 21, 2013. John retired honorably from the US Navy after 11 years of service. He later worked in Engineering Management for Bechtel Construction for 20 years until his retirement in 2000. After his retirement he enjoyed working around the house and taking care of his yard. Throughout his life he was a hard worker and great provider for his family. He was preceded in death by his wife Inge; He will be greatly missed but never forgotten by his two sons Kenny J. Smith and Walter Pelikan (Wendy), his three grandchildren John and Ryan Pelikan, and Alysha Levinski, his great-grandson Nicholas, his two brothers Richard and Calvin Chatten, his brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends. A viewing will be held on Saturday December 28th, from 9:30-11am, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where services will be held at 11am. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to: Alzheimers Association, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053.
