John P. Kelly

<p>John Phillip Eugene Kelly, son of the late Ada Harris Kelly and George Seaford Kelly was born in Carthage, North Carolina on June 2, 1933. He went home to be with the Lord on August 17, 2019.</p><p><br></p><p>John attended public schools in Carthage, North Carolina where he later attended North Carolina A &amp; T University where he studied business administration before becoming enlisted as a Commanding Officer in the United States Army in 1956. He worked as a supply ordinance specialist and supply clerk. He was later deployed to Germany for a short time where he learned some culinary skills and how to speak German. He received a Honorable Discharge from the United States Army, August 31, 1962. </p><p><br></p><p>He worked for the 500 Club in Atlantic City. He also worked as a supervisor for Lenox China in Pomona, New Jersey. He later retired from the Egg Harbor Township School district after 25+ years. He was also the President of the Atlantic City chapter of the Esquire Club. His religious faith was Presbyterian.</p><p><br></p><p>He had a love for Jazz music that he shared with his family. He enjoyed researching and gaining knowledge every chance he could. He was a collector of different things especially rare coins. </p><p><br></p><p>He was married to his wife for 61 years and was blessed with 4 children, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.</p><p><br></p><p>Left to mourn his passing is his wife, Susie of Mays Landing, New Jersey; his daughter Phyllis of Mays Landing; his son Patrick of Atlanta, GA; his son Jeffrey of Mays Landing; and his son Reginald also of Mays Landing and a host of many loving in-laws, friends and extended family members.</p><p> With lots of love</p><p> The Family</p>
