John Wexler Obituary

Wexler, John, of Egg Harbor Township, died on April 21, 2007 at the age of 82. Born on November 22, 1924, John Wexler was a decorated WWII Veteran who served in Burma with the distinguished ranger group, Merrill's Marauders. During his service, he received two bronze stars, a purple heart, and other metals of distinction. Before retiring in 1987, he worked as a mail room superintendent for the Press of Atlantic City. He was an active member of the Ventnor VFW, belonged to the Shore Mall Walkers, and enjoyed fishing at the pier in Margate. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Stella; his children; John Wexler, Barbara and George Shafer, Maria Pozzi, Frank and Sherrie Wexler, Gloria and Alan Wasserman, and Randy Wexler; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five brothers, and seven sisters. Services will be held on Thursday, 11:30 AM, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where a viewing will be held from 10:30 until the time of the service.
