Joseph Almond

Joseph Patrick Almond, Sr., 84. Born in Philadelphia on March 17, 1929. Widower of Suzanne Dore Almond. Joe left an emptiness in our hearts by his untimely death on November 9, 2013. He died of natural causes. Joe was a master plumber and a successful author of several plumbing handbooks from 1969 to 2010. These are in the Library of Congress. He was especially fond of being the grandfather of Ashley, Stephanie and Eric, by his son Joseph Patrick Almond Forte and wife Tina. He is also survived by son Joseph Patrick Almond, III of Montreal, Canada. Preceded in death by his mother Mary Elizabeth Bates Almond, father Joseph Edward Almond, Sr., brother Joseph Edward Almond, Jr., sisters Kathleen Tims, Audrey Miller and Helen Gysendorfer and brother, William. Joe will be missed greatly by his only surviving sibling, Jean Carol Almond Smith and his best friend, his brother-in-law Kenneth Miller who stood by him and helped him right up to the end. Nieces Beverly Anne Angelou, Helen Hein, Roxanne Thompson, Jean Carol Ponton, Mary Beltran, Kathleen Bell and Fay Moon, nephew William Bell of Pawnee, OK, Stephen Delesline of Bradenton, FL and many great-nieces and nephews. Services were private and held at Boakes Funeral Home in Mays Landing on Wednesday, November 13, 2013.
