Joseph M. Angen, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus surrounded by his family on September 6, 2009. Born and raised in Elizabeth, he resided in Kenilworth most of his life before mvoing to the Sunrise Assisted Living of Galloway Twp. one year. Ago. Joe served in the US Navy during WWII and was a life member and past commander of the American Legion Post 35 of Union NJ and was an active member of the Kenilworth AARP. Joe was a faithful member of St. Theresa's Church in Kenilworth. He is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Laura L.; three children: Theresa Kachinsky (Joseph) of Mays Landing, Joann Blanchard (Clayton) of Naples, FL, and Joseph Jr. of Naples, FL. He will be sadly missed and loved by his granddaughters Tina and Lauren. He was a loving grandfather to Joseph and Lisa and to his great-grandchildren; and niece Susan. Friends are invited to attend his memorial Mass on Saturday, September 19, at 11 AM, at the Church of St. Theresa, 541 Washington Ave., Kenilworth, NJ.
