Joseph Sundermann

Joseph G. Sundermann, 76, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2009. Born in Philadelphia, he was a longtime resident of Somers Point, and later Egg Harbor Township. Joe graduated from LaSalle College with a Bachelors degree in accounting. He served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. His favorite pastimes were playing golf and watching the Eagles play. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, William and Helen, brother William and sister-in-law Joan. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Flora (Borzillo); his two cherished daughters, Lynn Smith and Joanne Roden (Paul), and his three adoring grandchildren, Erin, Cole and Jenna. He is also survived by his brother Paul, sister Doris Colligan (Jack) and sister-in-law Eleanor. Visitation will be held at Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 606 Shore Road, Somers Point on Saturday, December 19th from 10 - 11 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Commitment services will be held at 3 pm at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Joe's name to the Shore Memorial Hospital "Guardian Angel Program" (4 Hayes), 1 East New York Avenue, Somers Point, NJ 08244. NOTE: Due to the anticipated bad weather, the Interment service at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery will not take place on December 19. When it is rescheduled, the information will be posted on this website.
