Karl H. Mackenroth, 81, of the Weymouth section of Hamilton Twp, formerly of Absecon, passed away February 13, 2010, at the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City.
Mr. Mackenroth was born, raised and received his education in horticulture in Germany. In 1957, he immigrated to the US and moved to Shady Lane in Absecon.
Karl worked for many years at Fischer's Greenhouses in Linwood, and later worked for Parker Plants.
He was a charter member of the Reformation Lutheran Church in Conovertown. In his leisure time, Karl enjoyed model railroads and trains.
He is predeceased by his wife Theresia Mackenroth.
Karl is survived by his daughter Christa Kramer of Weymouth, his son, John Mackenroth and his wife Manal of Mansfield, MA; his 3 granddaughters: Michelle and her boyfriend AJ of Ebony, VA, Jenna, and Dania, and his sister Hannelore Hohmaonn of Germany.
Services will be held on Thursday, 2:30p.m., at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where a viewing will be from 1:30p.m, til the time of the service. Burial will be in Adams-Port Republic Cemetery.
