Kathleen Dutton

Kathleen M. Dutton (nee Hale) 62 of Galloway passed away peacefully on December 9th, 2011 surrounded by her loving husband Jim and family after a courageous battle with Leukemia. Kathy grew up in Ventnor, NJ and graduated in 1967 from Holy Spirit High School. She graduated with honors from Stockton College in 1999 receiving a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science and Information Systems. She was employed at Stockton College in the Division of Student Affairs for 25 years and gleefully retired in February of 2011. During her tenure she was a guiding force and mentor to many students and coworkers. Kathy enjoyed traveling, cooking, the beach, cheering on her Phillies and spending time with her family and friends. After a brief bowling career Kathy never passed up the chance to “cut a rug” with anyone brave enough to hit the dance floor. Kathy was predeceased by her mother Kathleen Hale and her father H. Edward Hale and will be missed by her loving husband Jim of 42 years, her sons Jimmy (Kara) and Matt (Britt), and grandchildren, her “Loves” – A.J. (9), Rachel (7), Brennan (7), Tyler (3); her brothers and sister – Ed, Maureen (Dom), and John (Kelly); loving stepmother Grace Hale; loving mother and father in-law – Anna and Bob, brothers in-law Bob Jr., Steve (Patti), Michael, Dennis, and Billy, sister in-law Kathy (Mark); nieces and nephews – Joe, Nancy, Stephen, Brian, Molly, Eddie, Carrie, Collin, Laura, Kevin, Bobby, Jennifer, Dennis, Anna, Jennifer, Stephanie, and Megan; special childhood friend Gerri Sullivan (John) and WAY too many dear and loving friends to list. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, December 14th, from 9:30-11am, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11am, at the St. Vincent de Paul Church, 5061 Rt. 40 (next to Holy Cross Cemetery), Mays Landing, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery of Mays Landing. In lieu of flowers, donations to her memory can be sent to Gilda’s Club South Jersey (www.gildasclubsouthjersey.org) and are greatly appreciated.
