Hewitt, Kevin, of Mays Landing and Ocean City, passed away peacefully at home on January 16, 2008. Born in New Brunswick and raised in Highland Park, he has been a Mays Landing resident for 22 years. He started his career as a dealer for Caesars Atlantic City for 16 years; then worked at the Taj Mahal for two years, and for the past nine years at MGM/Mirage Resorts, "The Best company to work for." In his youth he was a wrestler, a passion which continued through his life. He also enjoyed walks on the beach, music, playing the drums, riding his Harley, and hunting. His enthusiasm and love for life will always be remembered by his wife of 25 years Doreen; daughter Lauren; brothers Richie and Scott (Barbara) both of Somerset; sister Karen Bowers of Murrysville, PA; nieces and nephews Justine, Morgan, Andrew, Colin, Kurt, and Ian; Doreen's parents Pete & Florence Roccia; and numerous other relatives and friends across the country. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard T. and Rita M. Hewitt; and brother-in-law John "Buddy" Bowers. A viewing will be held on Saturday 9:30-11:30 AM, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12 Noon, Saturday, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 114 Route 50, Mays Landing. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing.
