Lois Ruth Lehneis, of Estell Manor, went to Heaven to be with Her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, November 22, 2019, surrounded by family. Lois was born on March 7th, 1930, in Staten Island, N.Y. She was 89 years old. She was predeceased by Robert L. Josephsen and William Lehneis; her parents, Audrey and Harry Anderson; and Siblings June Josephsen, Kenneth Anderson, and Donald H. Anderson. She is survived by her children: Robert W. Josephsen (Kathy), Karen Bossley (Dale), Ronald A. Josephsen (Leslie), Kathy Schomber (Bill), David P. Josephsen (Donna), and Step-children Linda Bailey (Richard), and William Lehneis; her 23 Grandchildren, 34 Great grandchildren, and 4 Great-great grandchildren. Lois grew up in a loving family, and they attended church every Sunday. As a young girl in church, she learned of a loving God, and realized the need to repent of her sins and accept His free gift of salvation, through His Son, Jesus Christ. This foundation of her faith, enabled her to grow, live, and marry, and by the Grace of God, raise 5 children to be strong Men and Women of Faith. Lois was the Niece of Chaplin George L. Fox, one of the Four Chaplains. The Four Chaplains, also referred to as the "Immortal Chaplains" or the "Dorchester Chaplains," were four World War II chaplains who gave their lives to save other civilian and military personnel as the troop ship SS Dorchester sank on February 3, 1943. A Memorial Service for Lois will be held on December 7th. At 11:00 AM at Estell Manor Community Church, 146 Cumberland Ave, Estell Manor, NJ 08319. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church.
