Louis Chanese

Chanese, Louis A. of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ passed away on January 17, 2018. Born in Mays Landing, he lived in Atlantic City where he raised his family and was an active member of the Chelsea Heights Community. Lou was a builder of residential homes in the area for more than 70 years. He is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Frances McNellis, his sisters Mildred Dellomo and Madeline Hackney. He is survived by his sister, Rita Herbert, his dear friend Gloria, children Barbara (Jerry) Davis, Linda (Terry) Dolan, Louis (MaryJane) and Albert (Martha). He has nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren who called him PopaLou, Grandpa Lou and Dude. He has also been blessed with an abundance of nieces and nephews, grands and greats. Louis was a good friend to all, especially his neighbors and his community at St. Katharine Drexel. He will be missed by all of those who knew him and all of those whose lives he touched with his eternal joy and optimism. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 9am to 10:30am at the Church of St. Katharine Drexel, 6077 West Jersey Avenue, Egg Harbor Twp., NJ, where a Mass will be held at 10:30am. Burial immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing.
