Ireland, Lydia C., (nee: Turner) of Mays Landing, formerly of Shamong and Mizpah, went to be with the angels on February 10, 2009 after a short illness. She was born December 25, 1928 to the late Wilson & Lela Turner. In her leisure time Lydia loved to sew, plastic craft, read true crime stories, collect Emmett Kelly clowns, and listening to her scanner. She is survived by her children: L. Cathy Dixon (Gary), John Ireland, Dorothy M. Morris (Dave); six grandchildren: James "Chuckie" Dowling (Michelle), Teresa Flippen (Dan), Christina Dowling (Dawn), Fawn Forbes (Dave), John G. Ireland, and Sammi Morris; eight great-grandchildren; sister Iva Smith (Ken); brothers: Wilson Turner (Ruth), George Turner (Barbara), and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughters Marguerite Ireland and Georgetta Gaunt; brothers Gerald, Everett, Harold, and Jack Turner; twin sister Bertha Franchetti and sister Dorothy Hand. A viewing will be held on Friday 10-11 AM at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where services will be held at 11 AM. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Mays Landing.
