Malcolm Bowens Mays Landing, New Jersey Obituary

Malcolm Bowens

Malcolm Martin Bowens, age 27, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 20, 2017. He was born October 13, 1989 at Newcomb Hospital in Vineland New Jersey to Yulanda Torres and Glenn Bowens. Malcolm grew up in Mizpah, New Jersey and attended schools mainly in the Atlantic County area. As a child he was so full of life and pure happiness. He loved eating meat above any other foods. Crabs in particular was his absolute favorite. The older he became, the goofier his personality grew to remind people to live, laugh, and love. His favorite past times were fishing, watching anything pertaining to cooking on television, and animal planet. Once he became a father to Savere and Merci Bowens he was absolutely proud and great protector. He instilled positive examples to teach his children the ways of the world and the obstacles of life. He adored his children in equal measure and loved them unconditionally, admirably, and genuinely. There wasn’t anything he would not do for his children, family, friends, or strangers. His favorite saying: That’s straight Factz. He worked odd jobs here and there to keep afloat. He loved to cook and was so great at it. He would cook and bond the time beside his father, mother, and siblings. Malcolm could be a handful and stood up for what he believed in. A lover and a fighter in the greatest and most positive ways. Malcolm is preceded in death by his maternal great grandfather, Carol McCarroll and great grandmother, Louisa McCarroll. Also his paternal great grandmother Artie Champman, grandfather, Jimmy Burnett, and second cousin Doneka Bowens. He is survived by his parents and children, Savere M Bowens and Merci Bowens. His sisters, Shafeqah B. Torres, Qahdirah M. Torres, and Qahrimah J. Bowens. His brothers Marzuq B. Torres and Haquim A. Torres. Maternal and paternal grandmothers and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 1326 Annapolis Avenue, Mizpah, NJ from 10am till 11am with a Service at 11am.
