Mario Alberico, 82, of Mays Landing, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on January 9, 2012, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Mario was born August 15, 1929 in Alanno, (Pescara), Italy, son of the late Giovanni and Giulia Alberico. He moved to the United States in 1968 with his wife and daughter and lived in Vineland for several years before moving to Atlantic County. He graduated in Rome as a Master Tailor in 1950, and has worked for Lou Marchiano of Northfield for the past 30 years. Mario was an avid soccer fan and lifelong fan of the Rome Italian Soccer Team. He will always be remembered by his beloved wife of 57 years, Luciana (nee: Arnese), two children, Tiziana Alberico-Hill (Ronald), Giovanni Alberico (Maria), three grandchildren, Ronald, Julia, and Chris, and his brother Pietro Alberico (Maria). A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11am, Friday, January 13th, at the St. Vincent De Paul Church, 5021 Harding Hwy., Mays Landing (next to Holy Cross Cemetery), where a viewing will be held from 9am till the time of the Mass. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
