Mary Boyette Mays Landing, New Jersey Obituary

Mary Boyette

Mary Moffitt Boyette, born November 21, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, to Albert and Helen Grace Moffitt, died the evening of October, 10th, 2012 of cancer. While raising her children Steven and Jeanne in Ozone Park, Queens she started working as a travel agent where she quickly became one of the best and most respected agents in NYC, traveling the world and having many adventures. After retiring from the travel industry in 1987, Mary moved to Mays Landing to be closer to her children, who had both previously moved to South Jersey. She took great pride and much joy from her yard, which was so beautiful couples requested and were granted permission to use it for their wedding pictures; but nothing gave her more pleasure than being with her grandchildren, which were everything to her. Being very bright and quick witted, she took great pleasure in beating us all that Jeopardy whenever the chance arose. St. Patrick’s Day was always special, and mom enjoyed having the family and friends over for corned beef and cabbage. Mary was a friend, a confidant, and a safety net. Her cheerful greetings, (“I was just thinking about you!”), would always bring a smile, even when smiles were hard to come by. Mary will be greatly missed by her son Steven, daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Michael Lynch; seven grandchildren: Christopher, Jessica, Corey, Adam, Philip, Michael, and Ashley; sisters Grace Calabrese, Carole Kane, and JoAnne Stasuk; brother and sister-in-law Albert and Patricia Moffitt and companion Blakeston Chavanne, as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be forever loved, missed, and certainly never forgotten. A viewing will be held on Monday, October 15, 12-2 Pm at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where services will begin at 2 PM. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
