Matthew Vincent Ecker born August 2, 1965 died November 27, 2017. Matt struggled with mental illness as best he could for as long as he was able, but the manner of one's passing in no way defines one's life. Matt was a wonderful, loving father to Matthew Charles and Michelle Christine. He is also survived by his siblings Bill, Ed, Kathy, Karen and Nancy. Matt was predeceased by both his father, Ernest and his mother, Esther. Matt was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved skiing - he and his dad went together often. Matt loved football. He and Michelle avidly followed the Eagles from the time she was born. He loved music, something he shared with his son Matthew. Both Matthew and Michelle participated in marching band in high school and Matt never missed a performance. Matt was a professional engineer - something that made his dad extraordinarily proud. He ran a very successful small business for over 10 years in addition to his full-time occupation. He was greatly loved and he will be greatly missed. Friday December 1, 2017 there will be a gathering at 3pm and memorial service at 4pm at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing.
