Melissa Ivette Marrero, 42 of Atlantic City, passed away on October 29th 2019 surrounded by loving family. She was born October 15th, 1977 to Ruben Marrero and Luz A. Benjamin of San Sebastian and Arroyo, Puerto Rico. She graduated from Carmen Bozello de Huyke High School, Arroyo, PR. in 1995. She worked as a Case Worker for Department of Family and Community Development, Atlantic County Government. Melissa had a great love for life and a contagious, beautiful smile. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was known to be the “life of the party.” She loved music and she couldn’t help but to dance. She was an excellent cook and she delighted in feeding everyone. But, she will be remembered most for her desire to help others. She is survived by her husband, Ernesto Colon and her children Sandy Ruiz and Angel De Aza, her mother, Luz Benjamin, father, Ruben Marrero, step-mother, Carmen Teresa Caceres, sisters, Lynnette Rivera and Johanna Marrero, brothers, Ruben Marrero and Ivan Marrero, many sets of loving grandparents, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, and countless dear friends. A celebration of her life will be held at Oasis United Methodist Church at 316 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., Pleasantville, NJ 08330 on Thursday, November 7th from 4pm to 6pm immediately followed by a worship service.
