Milas Raymond Cook Obituary

Milas R. Cook, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, went to be with the Lord on August 26, 2015. Born in West Aliquippa, PA on February 19, 1934, he graduated from Hopewell High School, PA and Roger William College, RI. He was a Sergeant in the Army Infantry during the Korean War. He worked for Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation as a Project Accountant in PA, CT, MA, IL, and NJ. He was a member of Trinity Masonic Lodge #79 of E.H.T., also Scottish Rite 32 Degree Mason, E.H.T., Republican Club, Former member of the E.H.T. Planning Board, VFW Post 8098 and NRA. He was a life-long Pittsburgh Steelers football fan. He enjoyed hunting in the PA mountains, walks on the Ocean City, NJ beach and boardwalk, traveling with his wife in the USA and Europe, and most of all spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Mildred Cook, grandson Christopher Achenbach and sister Elaine Sutton. He is survived by his High School Sweetheart and loving wife of 60 years, Frances (Michic); children: Pamela Lynch (Michael), Paula Achenbach (Peter), and Michael (fiancée Brooke); four grandchildren: Ryan and Rebecca Lynch, Lauren Achenbach, and Jacob Cook; brother: Dennis Cook (Kathy) of PA; brother-in-law Ronald (Sylvia) Michic of PA; aunt Eva White of TX; two nieces: Denise Hennessey (Bob) and Dena Lipp (Tom) of PA; and many cousins. Friends and family may gather on Sunday, August 30, from 6-8 PM at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing where a Masonic Service will be held at 8 PM. A second gathering will be held on Monday, August 31 from 10-11 AM followed by services at 11 AM. Interment will be at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 6550 Delilah Rd., Suite 501, Egg Harbor Twp., NJ 08234 or Mainland Manor, 930 Church St., Pleasantville, NJ 08232.
