Norman Adams Obituary

Norman Paul Adams 61 – of Egg Harbor Township and Melbourne, FL passed away on Monday, August 2, 2010 following complications arising from surgery. Norman was born in Chicago, IL and grew up in South Jersey. After high school, he served in the United States air Force for five years as a communication repairman, where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Norman then worked as a communications technician for over 30 years with several firms including Motorola and Atlantic Electric. He was a computer buff who enjoyed building and repairing computers for his friends and was nick-named the “data doctor.” Norman was devoted to his wife, Janice; they raised eight children in Egg Harbor Township and later moved to Melbourne, FL. Norman was a loving father and was known for assisting friends of the children in their times of need. He especially loved his ten grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Janice, Norman is survived by his mother, Pearl Adams; sister, Barbara Fox; sons, Christian Adams, John Jones III, Richard Adams, Jeffery Jones, Michael Adams, and Jeremy Adams; daughters, Patricia Adams and Stacy (Jones) Fraley; and grandchildren, Shawn, Alexander, Taylor, Tyler, Dominique, Nicholas, Ashley, Collin, Lily, and Sophia. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, August 21, from 2:00-3:00pm at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing. A life celebration will be held on Saturday from 3:00-4:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at the Atlantic County Veteran’s Cemetery in Estell Manor.
