Oscar Petrosh, 90, of Laureldale, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2011 at the Cape May Court House Convalescent Center. Oscar was born and lived his whole life in the Laureldale section of Hamilton Township. He served his country proudly and honorably during World War II as a Sergeant in the Army Air Corps. During the war he was involved with very intense battles in Iwo Jima and often spoke of the dedication and bravery of the American soldiers. After the war he worked with his brother Walter in a used lumber business in Laureldale. He also enjoyed fishing, farming, and hunting in Maine with his friends. He especially enjoyed the Alaskan and British Columbia hunting and fishing trips with his two buddies, Joe Mercanto and Jim Bradley. Ocsar was predeceased by his parents Adele and Rudolph, and his siblings, Anna Milgrim, Robert, and Walter Petrosh. He was married to the late Artimica (Artie) Petrosh for over 60 years and was the father of six children: Walter Petrosh (Christine), Oscar Petrosh, Jr. (Beth Anne), Arlene Gazo (Michael), Lucy Michel (Tim), Alfred Petrosh (Eileen) and the late Iris Fricano (John)., He will also be remembered by his brother Alfred Petrosh and a devoted nephew, Bob Petrosh. Oscar also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011, 9-11 AM, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where services will be held at 11 AM. Burial will be in the Egg Harbor City Cemetery.
