Patrick Brittain Mays Landing, New Jersey Obituary

Patrick Brittain

Brittain, Patrick J., Sr., 59, of Mays Landing, passed away peacefully in the early morning of December 8th, with his family and friends by his side. Pat was born on March 25, 1951 to John and Marie Brittain in Scranton, PA. Growing up he was always the entrepreneur and investigator of what made things work. He was an independent youth, full of ideas and dreams that grew and developed into the successful businessman he became. Pat was the owner of Patrick J. Brittain and Son Electrical Contractor, which serviced NJ and PA. He will surely be missed by his loyal clients and business associates. Patrick was a man of honesty and integrity and full of respect. He ran his business with these same values throughout his lifetime. He was a man to be trusted without question and always made sure to do the right thing by his clients, friends, and family. Patrick will be remembered most for living life to the fullest. He worked as hard as he played. His legacy to his family and friends are: “Memories are all that we really have to keep, no one can take them away”; “Life is a celebration of events and happenings, keep your heart pure and your regrets will be none”; “My Life, living it my way”. He will be remembered for his laughter, Jack Daniels, and a skip in his step. Patrick’s generosity and support to his community was widespread by being a Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Mays Landing, assisting with the annual Halloween Parade, and frequently donating and supporting the local Twp. Of Hamilton Recreational Club for children to have opportunities they might not otherwise have had. He was also a member of Unity Lodge #96 F&AM and the Mays Landing Merchants Association. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 12 years Donna M. Brittain (nee: Cradock), and her two children of which he was a devoted and loving step-father, Conor D. and Sean M. Stabile, his parents John and Marie Brittain, his children, Eileen Lindsay and Patrick J. Brittain, Jr. (Debbi), his sister Barbara Umek (Bill), and brothers John Brittain (Sanouk), and Jan Brittain (Margaret Winkelspecht), his grandchildren of which he loved with every being of his soul, Tyler and Lauren Lindsay, Taylor and Patrick J. Brittain, III, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Celebrate Pat’s life on Sunday from 5-8pm, with Masonic services at 7pm, and Monday from 10-11am with services at 11am, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery of Mays Landing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church, 6001 Main Street, Mays Landing, NJ 08330 or Unity Lodge #96, 6158 Sterling Ave., Mays Landing, NJ 08330.
