Raymond Thomas

Raymond J. Thomas, 69, of Mays Landing, passed away after a brief illness, on January 30, 2012. Ray was born in Atlantic City, son of the late Felix and Evelyn Thomas. He was raised in Pleasantville, and was a lifelong area resident. He worked in the Roofing and Siding Industry throughout his life, and retired from the maintenance department of Oakcrest High School. During his leisure time he was an avid hunter, inspiring and teaching the younger generation to follow his passion. He had a love for nature and also enjoyed crabbing, fishing, and gardening. He will always be loved and remembered by his wife of 45 years, MaryEllen (nee: Carty), his two daughters, Donna Rossell and Denise Thomas, three granddaughters, Gabrielle, Angelena, and Adriana, his siblings, Harold and Robert Thomas (Lois), and in-laws, Dot and Mary Thomas, and Buddy Foster, and numerous other relatives and friends. A viewing will be held on Friday, February 3rd, from 4-6pm, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where reflections will be shared at 6pm.
