Richard MacKinnon

Richard H. MacKinnon, 72, of Mays Landing, formerly of Linwood, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 24, 2011. “Papa Mack” as he was affectionately known, was born in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Haverford High School and The Spring Garden Institute of Philadelphia. He was employed in the scaffolding industry for over 40 years. Upon his retirement he was employed by Shore Toyota for nine years. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Celeste of Mays Landing; his daughter Donna Evanglisto (Jim) of Laurel Springs; his three sons: Kevin of Mays Landing, Keith of Somers Point, and Daniel (Cara) of Linwood. He is also survived by the joys of his life his grandchildren: Kayla, Kyle, Connor, Chloe, Little Dan, and Baby Abigail; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; his best friend John Cassidy, and his “4th son” Robert Meyer! He was a lifelong Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles Fan. He enjoyed the beach, walking the boardwalk, and special times with family and friends. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, from 11 AM – 12 Noon at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where reflections will be shared at 12 Noon. A committal service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to “The Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation”, Lockbox #1352, P.O.
