Richard Steven Manin of Galloway, NJ passed away peacefully at home on June 6th 2015, ending his long battle with bladder cancer. He was born on August 9th, 1951, in the Bronx, NY to Irving and Arlene Manin. He moved to Tennessee following his attendance at the Fort Schuyler Merchant Marine Academy, to pursue his studies at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga on a football scholarship. After graduation he went on to receive his Masters Degree from WVU College of Graduate Studies; during which time he met and married the love of his life Suzanne Clifford Manin. Rich (as he was known by those close to him) was the owner and sole proprietor of Richard S. Manin Insurance, LLC. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, father in law, friend, Mason, Rotarian and a member of the Small Business Administration of Mays Landing. He is survived by his wife Suzanne C. Manin, his daughters Julianne Haberlin and Erin Jackson, his grandchildren Kayla and Gavin Watson, as well as Abbey and Bella Haberlin. He is loved greatly and will be missed. We know that he is happy to be joining his daughter Rachel Selena Watson in the hereafter eternally: May she guide him and light his way. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Basser Research Center for BRCA-Revolutionizing BRCA1 and BRCA2 Research - Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, 3400 Civic Center Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19104, or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Organization. A gathering will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 from 12-1pm at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing, NJ. Masonic Services will be held at 1pm followed by Religious Services. Burial will be at Union Cemetery off of Somers Point-Mays Landing Road.
